Wherever We Land

I’ve never been one to dream about going on a cruise. The idea of spending days out on the open sea hasn’t exactly floated my boat. Maybe it’s the memory of that childhood incident, where I went under the water and felt that terrifying helplessness that has shaped my feelings about deep water. Ever since, large bodies of water have never been my favorite thing.

But recently, Snatcher and other family members have been nudging me to at least consider it. They talk about it with such excitement and enthusiasm, painting pictures of beautiful sunsets over endless horizons and luxurious amenities that make life on a cruise ship sound almost too good to be true. I’m curious, I’ll admit that. Why is everyone so eager to get me on board?

I’ve watched a few videos, and I have to concede that the views from a cruise ship can be breathtaking. The sight of the sun dipping into the ocean, casting a golden path across the waves, is undeniably beautiful. I see families and friends enjoying the experience, making memories that seem precious and timeless. It makes me wonder if I’m missing out on something truly special by letting my fear dictate my choices.

Our YouTube channel, ‘Wherever We Land,’ is all about exploring new places and experiences, trusting that God has a plan for us wherever we go. If I claim that ‘God’s Got Us Wherever We Land,’ then maybe it’s time I take a step out of my comfort zone and consider that a cruise might be part of that plan. After all, embracing new adventures is what our journey is all about.

So, while I’m still not entirely sold on the idea, I’m starting to open up to the possibility. Maybe, just maybe, there’s a cruise in my future. And who knows? It might turn out to be one of those unexpected blessings, a new chapter in our adventure that I never saw coming.
