What are your favorite types of foods?

I’ve always been a bit of a foodie, but as I’ve gotten older, my tastes have definitely evolved. Maybe it’s a newfound health consciousness, or maybe my taste buds are just getting more refined. Whatever the reason, I’ve discovered a whole new appreciation for some unexpected dishes.

Take asparagus, for instance. I never would have guessed that I’d be chowing down on this fancy veggie while camping! Last week, Nikki and I had a delicious dinner of salmon, corn on the cob, and asparagus. It was the perfect combination of flavors and textures.

But if you’re asking about my absolute favorite camping food, I’m going to have to go with lamb on the grill cooked over wood. I didn’t grow up eating lamb, so the first time I tried it, I was a bit skeptical. But it quickly became one of my top five dishes.

I also still love a juicy burger cooked over the open fire. I use hickory wood when grilling burgers, and the smoky flavor really does it for me. I enjoy cooking chicken the same way, too.

And last but not least, I’d have to say that a perfectly cooked ribeye steak is a must-have on any camping trip. There’s just something about the taste of a steak cooked over an open fire that can’t be beat.
