What was your favorite subject in school?
Looking back on my school days, English was always my favorite subject. I loved the rhythm of words, the way sentences could dance on paper, and the power of language to convey emotion and meaning. Little did I know that this early love would become a tool I use almost daily for our YouTube channel, *Wherever We Land*. Speaking on camera can be intimidating, but having a foundation in English has given me the confidence to express my thoughts clearly and with purpose.
For anyone who creates content or shares stories publicly, there’s real value in returning to those basics of language. I believe we could all use a little refresher in English now and then. After all, as we travel and encounter new people and cultures, we can bring in fresh words, phrases, and nuances to our language that make our stories more engaging.
Language constantly evolves, and each new expression or phrase is like a tool we can add to our belt. Being well-spoken isn’t about using big words but about connecting with others clearly and sincerely. So, whether it’s refining our vocabulary, exploring new ways to describe our experiences, or practicing concise communication, a love for English can help anyone become a more compelling storyteller.
Here’s to embracing the words that help us share our travels and the moments that shape us!
