What are your biggest challenges?

One of the biggest challenges Snatcher and I face is figuring out how to semi-retire to enjoy the travel and camping adventures we both dream of. In a world so focused on busy work and superficial relationships, stepping off the hamster wheel feels like a monumental task. But deep down, we know it’s something we have to do—not just for ourselves but to live the life God intended for us.

Let’s be real: God didn’t say we wouldn’t have to work. Work is part of life, and it’s good to labor and provide for our families. But what the world has put in place—a system that demands we work ourselves into the ground, leaving little time to truly live—isn’t what God intended. The endless grind to achieve more, acquire more, and impress others leaves little room for what really matters: faith, family, and appreciating God’s creation.

Snatcher and I don’t want to wait until we’re too old or too tired to enjoy life. We want to travel, camp, and explore the beauty of God’s earth now, while we can. Life isn’t guaranteed, and we want to make the most of the time we’ve been given. Our hope and prayer are to find a way to step away from the busyness of the world and embrace a simpler, more fulfilling lifestyle.

This doesn’t mean we’re avoiding responsibility. Instead, we’re reimagining what work looks like for us. Maybe it’s creating content that inspires others to embrace the outdoors and step away from the rat race. Maybe it’s finding flexible work that allows us to travel and experience life together. Whatever it is, we know it needs to align with God’s plan for us, not the world’s expectations.

The journey to semi-retirement is anything but easy. It requires faith, planning, and courage. It means saying no to the pressures of the world and yes to the freedom God offers. And while we don’t have all the answers yet, we trust that with God’s guidance, we’ll find the path that’s right for us.

In the meantime, we’re taking small steps toward our dream. Each camping trip, each adventure we share, reminds us of why we’re pursuing this goal. It’s not just about escaping work—it’s about living a life of purpose, enjoying God’s creation, and cherishing the time we have together.

We hope that by sharing our journey, we can inspire others to consider what truly matters in life. It’s not the promotions, the possessions, or the endless pursuit of more. It’s the moments of peace, joy, and connection that make life worth living.

If you’re feeling stuck on the hamster wheel, know that you’re not alone. Take a step back, pray, and ask God to show you the life He wants for you. It might look different from what the world expects, but that’s okay. After all, we’re not here to follow the world’s plan—we’re here to follow His.

Here’s to finding freedom, embracing adventure, and living life as God intended.
