Wherever We Land

Life has a way of rushing by if we let it. The constant demands of work, chores, and responsibilities can weigh heavily, but I’ve discovered the perfect way to hit pause and embrace the joy of living—daily playtime with Snatcher. 

Each day, we find a reason to laugh together, whether it’s reminiscing about one of our camping trips or watching clips from *America’s Funniest Videos*. There’s something magical about a shared laugh; it’s like a burst of sunshine that instantly melts away any stress lingering from the day. Snatcher and I often remind each other of the hilarious moments from our adventures, like that time we tried cooking over an open fire, and the wind had other plans for our dinner! These shared memories and lighthearted moments keep our bond strong and our spirits lifted. 

But if there’s one thing that fuels my competitive side, it’s a good board or card game with Snatcher—especially when we’re camping. Whether it’s a classic round of Uno, a heated game of Scrabble, or our never-ending rivalry in Boggle, there’s nothing like the thrill of trying to outsmart each other. Winning (or losing) becomes secondary to the fun we share and the memories we create. 

Camping trips are when these moments shine the brightest. Picture this: the campfire crackling nearby, the gentle hum of crickets in the background, and the two of us sitting at a small camping table, leaning in over a game as the night sky blankets us in stars. Out there, we’re far removed from the demands of work and the distractions of modern life. It’s just us, a deck of cards or a game board, and nature’s symphony playing softly in the background. 

For me, these moments represent the essence of joy—laughing until our sides ache, playfully debating the rules of a game, and simply being present with each other. It’s a daily reminder to prioritize what truly matters: connection, laughter, and the simple pleasures of life. 

As we continue to make our camping trips part of our lifestyle, I cherish how these moments bring us closer together. Whether it’s a quick laugh during the day or an intense game session under the stars, Snatcher and I are reminded to step away from life’s busyness and enjoy the beauty of God’s creation—and each other. 

So, here’s to more games, more laughter, and more nights spent under the stars with the one I love most. Let’s never forget the importance of playtime, no matter how old we are or where life takes us.
