What colleges have you attended?
Life has been my greatest teacher. Some call it the “College of Hard Knocks,” and I’ve earned my degree with honors. From navigating challenges to celebrating victories, life’s lessons have shaped me into the person I am today. While I’ve had my fair share of bumps and bruises along the way, I wouldn’t trade those experiences for anything. They’ve taught me resilience, resourcefulness, and the importance of relying on God.
I did spend some time in traditional education, attending community college and online courses. Those experiences provided valuable skills that helped me advance in my career. Learning about business, communication, and technology was instrumental in equipping me to succeed professionally. I’m thankful for that opportunity, but even more grateful for the lessons that life itself has taught me—lessons that can’t be found in a textbook.
The College of Hard Knocks taught me how to manage finances during tough times, how to build relationships that matter, and how to weather the storms of life with grace. It’s where I learned the importance of hard work, perseverance, and trusting God even when the road ahead seemed uncertain. It taught me to appreciate the value of a good laugh, the beauty of nature, and the power of love and community.
But the most important education I’ve ever received is happening now, as I attend what I like to call “God’s College.” Studying His Word and learning His ways have transformed me in ways no earthly institution ever could. Diving into the Bible has taught me how to be a better wife, mother, and friend. It has shown me the true meaning of wisdom, humility, and faith.
God’s lessons aren’t always easy—sometimes, they require me to unlearn things the world has taught me or to confront my own flaws. But they are always worth it. His teachings guide me toward becoming the person He designed me to be: a woman of integrity, love, and purpose.
Looking back, I see how God was the ultimate teacher in every season of my life, even when I didn’t realize it. The trials, the successes, and the detours were all part of His curriculum, preparing me for the path I’m walking now.
While I’m grateful for the formal education that supported my career, it’s the real-world experiences and God’s Word that have truly shaped my character. I wouldn’t trade the lessons I’ve learned for anything. Each one has brought me closer to understanding the depth of God’s love and the purpose He has for my life.
So, as I continue my studies in God’s College, I carry the lessons from life’s school with me. They remind me that while the journey hasn’t always been easy, it’s been worth every step—and the best is yet to come.
