Chasing Vanlife Dreams with Nikki and Snatcher

Hey there, fellow adventurers! If you’re like us, you’ve been bitten by the vanlife bug and are dreaming of hitting the open road with your own custom camper. Well, buckle up, because we’re about to take you on our journey of converting our 2021 Dodge Ram ProMaster into the ultimate home on wheels.

Why a ProMaster?

We chose the ProMaster for its spacious interior, ample cargo space, and reliable performance. Plus, it’s got a rugged, utilitarian look that we just love. We knew it would be the perfect canvas for our dream camper.

The Gutting Process: A Messy but Rewarding Start

The first step was to gut the van, removing all the original seats, carpet, and insulation. It was a messy job, but it was also incredibly satisfying to see the blank slate that lay before us. We felt like kids in a candy store, ready to start designing our dream space.

Prepping the Floor: A Solid Foundation

Once we had a clean slate, we focused on prepping the floor. We leveled it out, reinforced it with plywood, and then added a layer of marine-grade vinyl flooring. This would provide a sturdy and durable base for our future build.

Our Playlist of Progress: Sharing the Journey

To keep ourselves motivated and to share our progress with the world, we created a YouTube playlist documenting our journey. We filmed every step of the process, from gutting the van to installing the flooring. It’s been a great way to track our progress and connect with other vanlifers along the way.

What’s Next?

We’re still in the early stages of our conversion, but we have big plans for the rest of the van. We’re excited to add a kitchen, a bed, and plenty of storage space. We’re also dreaming of solar panels, a composting toilet, and a hot water system.
