What are your favorite sports to watch and play?

I’ve never been one to have a favorite sport. I don’t spend my weekends glued to the TV watching games, nor do I have a favorite team or player that I passionately follow. Playing sports was never really my thing either—although, in high school, I did run track and was a cheerleader for both basketball and football season. But beyond those experiences, sports just never became a big part of my life.

That said, I do enjoy catching a basketball or football game at one of our children’s colleges. For me and Snatcher, these games have become more than just sporting events. They’re an opportunity—an excuse, really—to get away from home, visit our children, and make an adventure out of it. There’s something special about being in the stands, feeling the energy of the crowd, and watching our kids experience college life. The game itself is entertaining, but what I truly love is the time spent together, cheering and catching up.

And, of course, every visit to one of our children’s colleges gives us the perfect reason to go camping. We turn these trips into little getaways, finding nearby campgrounds or eventually even boondocking in our van, GLO. Whether it’s setting up a tent or parking GLO under the stars, we make a trip out of it—because why not?

So while I may never be a die-hard sports fan, I’ll gladly sit in those stands with a bag of popcorn, soaking in the excitement, knowing that the real highlight of the trip is the time spent with family and the adventure that comes with it.
