Write about your dream home.

Ever looked at a blank canvas and felt a mix of excitement and sheer terror? That’s exactly how we felt staring at the empty shell of our Dodge Ram ProMaster.  My wife, Nikki, and I had this crazy dream: to build a tiny home on wheels, a camper van that would allow us to explore the open road and live a life of adventure.  The problem? Neither of us had any experience in construction, electrical work, or, well, much of anything related to converting a van into a livable space.  We were starting from absolute scratch.

Honestly, the initial feeling was overwhelming.  Doubt crept in. Could we really pull this off?  We’d watch countless YouTube videos of seasoned DIYers effortlessly installing cabinets and wiring systems, and we’d just look at each other, a little lost.  But then, we remembered something crucial: our faith.

We firmly believe that with God, all things are possible.  This project, this leap of faith into the unknown, became a testament to that belief.  We decided to walk by faith, not by sight.  We knew the road ahead would be challenging, filled with learning curves and probably a few (okay, maybe more than a few) mistakes. But we also knew that if it was God’s will for us to complete this project, He would equip us with the knowledge, the skills, and the perseverance we needed.

So, we dove in headfirst.  We started with the floors, carefully laying down each plank. Then came the insulation, a crucial step in creating a comfortable living space.  Let me tell you, even these seemingly simple tasks presented their own set of challenges.  There were moments of frustration, moments where we wanted to throw our hands up and quit.  But in those moments, we prayed. We asked for guidance, for patience, and for the strength to keep going.

And you know what?  Every single time, we found a solution.  A helpful tip online, a friend who offered advice, or just a burst of inspiration that seemed to come from nowhere.  We started to see our van transform, slowly but surely, from an empty metal box into something that resembled a home.

We’re now at the exciting (and slightly terrifying) stage of wiring.  The thought of connecting all the electrical components makes my palms sweat a little, I won’t lie.  But we’re taking it one step at a time, researching, learning, and trusting that we’ll figure it out.

This journey hasn’t been easy.  It’s been messy, it’s been tiring, and it’s definitely tested our patience.  But it’s also been incredibly rewarding.  We’ve learned so much, not just about construction and electrical work, but about ourselves and about the power of faith.

We still have a long way to go before our tiny home on wheels is complete.  But we’re so excited to share our progress with you!  We’ve documented our journey so far in a video where you can see us put in the floors, insulation, and get ready for the wiring phase. We hope our story inspires you to chase your own dreams, no matter how daunting they may seem.  Remember, you don’t need to have all the answers or all the experience.  All you need is faith.  If you believe in something, and you’re willing to put in the work, you can achieve anything.
