Wherever We Land

If I were to embark on a cross-country adventure, I wouldn’t be booking a flight, hopping on a train, riding a bus, or even taking a traditional road trip in a car. No, my ideal journey would be in our fully converted Dodge Ram ProMaster van, GLO. Traveling in GLO isn’t just about getting from point A to point B—it’s about embracing the journey, immersing myself in nature, and experiencing the freedom that only van life can offer. 

The Freedom to Explore at Our Own Pace 

Unlike an airplane that forces you to rush through security, cram into a tiny seat, and land in a city without truly seeing the country, GLO gives us the ability to travel on our own schedule. If we see a breathtaking sunset over the mountains or a peaceful lakeside campsite, we can stop and stay as long as we want. There are no layovers or delays—just the open road and endless possibilities. 

Camping at Campgrounds and Off-Grid 

One of the greatest joys of van life is being able to camp in beautiful locations across the country. From well-maintained campgrounds with amenities to off-grid boondocking spots surrounded by nothing but nature, GLO allows us to fully immerse ourselves in the outdoors. Instead of checking into a hotel, we get to sleep under the stars, wake up to birds chirping, and cook meals over an open fire. 

Experiencing Nature’s Beauty Firsthand 

When you travel by plane, train, or bus, you see the scenery from a distance. But in a camper van, nature is right outside your door. Whether it’s the towering redwoods of California, the vast deserts of Arizona, or the rolling hills of Tennessee, every stop becomes an opportunity to connect with God’s creation. I want to wake up to misty mountain views, hike through national parks, and feel the ocean breeze—all things you miss when traveling any other way. 

Discovering Historical Landmarks Up Close 

America is full of rich history, from colonial towns to Civil War battlefields to Native American heritage sites. With GLO, we can pull over and explore these places on our own time. Instead of just reading about history in a book, we can walk through it, learn from it, and truly appreciate the stories that shaped our country. 

The Simplicity and Joy of Van Life 

At the heart of it all, van life represents a simple and fulfilling way to travel. No crowded airports, no rigid bus schedules, no overpriced hotels—just my husband, our van, and the open road. It’s a lifestyle that aligns with our love for camping, our desire to live more sustainably, and our passion for experiencing the world in a meaningful way.
