What do you wish you could do more every day?
Some days, I wake up and dream of a life where every sunrise greets me from a new horizon, where the sounds of birds singing and the rustling of leaves replace the hum of morning traffic. A life where my daily routine consists of stepping out of my van, GLO, into the fresh air of a new destination, sipping coffee by a crackling campfire, and planning the day’s adventure.
If I could, I would be traveling and camping every single day—immersing myself in God’s creation, exploring new landscapes, and finding peace in the simplicity of life outdoors. But, of course, the reality of responsibilities and finances keeps me grounded for now. Still, if I could make this dream a reality, my path would be clear.
The Freedom to Work From Anywhere
One of the biggest hurdles to full-time travel is income. But in my dream scenario, I would already be debt-free, allowing me the privilege to work as little or as much as I choose. My ideal job would be flexible, something I could do from anywhere—perhaps content creation, online teaching, or camp hosting. It wouldn’t tie me down to an office or a rigid schedule. Instead, it would fit around my lifestyle, allowing me to explore during the day and work when it suits me.
I envision myself writing blog posts from a cozy campsite, editing videos with a mountain view, or sharing our latest adventures on YouTube from a lakeside retreat. Work wouldn’t feel like a burden but rather a part of the journey, a way to connect with others who dream of escaping the ordinary.
Debt-Free and Living Simply
The key to this dream is financial freedom. Being debt-free would mean no monthly payments chaining me to a specific location or job. It would allow me to live minimally, focusing on what truly matters—experiences over possessions, peace over pressure.
With fewer financial obligations, I could slow down and truly enjoy each destination. I wouldn’t have to rush from one place to the next. Instead, I could savor a week by a secluded riverbank, take time to hike every trail in a national park, or linger longer in a place that feels like home.
A Life Rooted in Faith and Adventure
This dream isn’t just about travel; it’s about embracing the life God has given me to the fullest. Being out in nature draws me closer to Him. Watching the waves crash against the shore, feeling the wind on my face, and marveling at the night sky remind me of His greatness.
If I were living this life every day, I would use it as a way to honor Him—sharing His word through our travels, inspiring others to seek His peace in the great outdoors, and appreciating the simple joys that come from disconnecting from the chaos of the world.
For now, this dream remains a goal, something I hold onto as Snatcher and I continue our journey of building a life that allows for more adventure and less restriction. But one day, Lord willing, we’ll be on the road full-time, exploring His creation, working on our own terms, and living the life we’ve always imagined.
Until then, I’ll keep dreaming, planning, and trusting in His perfect timing.
