Most people don’t understand the deep pull that nature and camping have on Snatcher and me. It’s more than just a hobby or a way to spend a weekend—it’s a lifestyle, a renewal, and a way to connect with God’s creation in ways we never expected. 

A Fresh Start as Empty Nesters 
When our children left home, we found ourselves standing at a crossroads. Life had been full of routines, responsibilities, and raising a family, but now we had the freedom to redefine what our days looked like. Instead of filling our time with distractions, we chose to step outside—literally. Camping gave us a fresh start, allowing us to reconnect with each other and with the simple joys of life away from the noise of the world. 

A Deeper Love for God’s Creation 
As we spent more time outdoors, we realized that nature isn’t just a place—it’s a gift. Every sunrise over a misty mountain, every breeze that rustles the trees, and every quiet night under the stars is a reminder of God’s handiwork. Being in nature strips away the artificial and reminds us of what truly matters. It’s in these quiet moments by a campfire or on a secluded trail that we feel the closest to God. 

Learning, Growing, and Embracing Adventure 
Camping has been more than just sleeping in a tent or cooking over an open fire. It has been a journey of learning—how to adapt, how to be resourceful, and how to appreciate the small things. Whether we are testing out off-grid camping, staying in a cozy cabin, or converting our van into a mobile home, each adventure teaches us something new. 

Encouraging Others to Step Outside 
One of our biggest goals is to change people’s outlook on camping. Many fear stepping away from modern comforts, but we want to show that nature is not something to be afraid of—it’s something to embrace. It’s a chance to unplug, slow down, and experience peace like never before.
