What is your favorite holiday? Why is it your favorite?

As I grow in truth and deepen my walk with the Most High, one thing has become clear to me: the world has its holidays, but God has His *holy days*. And of all the holy days He set apart for His people, the Sabbath is my absolute favorite.

I no longer celebrate traditional holidays—those man-made observances filled with worldly customs and origins far removed from God’s Word. What once was routine now feels hollow. The more I learn, the more I realize that many of these traditions are rooted in practices God never intended for His people to follow. Instead, I’ve embraced the rhythm of rest and reflection that He established from the beginning: the seventh-day Sabbath.

The Sabbath is not just a day off—it’s a divine invitation to step away from the noise of the world and be still in God’s presence. It’s a weekly reminder that He is our Creator, our Provider, and our Deliverer. From the moment the sun sets on the sixth day to the moment it sets again on the seventh, I feel wrapped in peace and purpose. This day is not about productivity or performance—it’s about praise, prayer, and presence with my Creator.

What makes the Sabbath even more beautiful to me is that it honors God’s graciousness, His mercy, and His faithfulness to His people. He didn’t create this day for Himself; He created it for us, knowing we would need the rest, the reconnection, and the reset. It’s a sign between God and His people forever (Exodus 31:16-17), and I cherish it with all my heart.

Since walking away from the world’s holidays, I’ve also come to discover the *Biblical holy days*—like Passover, Feast of Unleavened Bread, and the Day of Atonement among others—which paint a powerful picture of God’s plan for redemption and restoration. Each one reveals His character and calls us to remember, repent, and rejoice in His goodness. They are not burdens, but blessings. And they help me draw nearer to Him in spirit and in truth.

But among them all, the Sabbath remains my favorite. It comes every week—faithful, holy, and sanctified. It’s a standing appointment with my King, and I wouldn’t miss it for anything. The more I honor this day, the more I feel aligned with His will and connected to His heart.

So no, I don’t celebrate holidays anymore. I celebrate **holy days**—the ones written in His Word, not on a calendar of man. Because when I honor what God has set apart, I’m not just keeping a tradition—I’m keeping His commandments and His memory alive in my life.

And for that, I say with joy: Hallelujah for the Sabbath!
