What’s a job you would like to do for just one day?

As Snatcher and I continue exploring the outdoors and traveling in our van, GLO, I’ve been thinking a lot about ways we could sustain this lifestyle full-time—something that lets us honor God, enjoy His creation, and meet new people without being chained to a desk. One job that keeps coming up is becoming a campground host.

But here’s the truth: I don’t want to dive in headfirst without dipping my toes in first.

So, I’ve been dreaming about trying the role of a Campground Host Assistant for just one day.

Not the full-blown responsibility of checking in guests or managing reservations—just the light, hands-on stuff: walking the grounds, tidying up campsites, chatting with campers, answering simple questions, and helping the main host with whatever they need. I imagine myself strolling through a peaceful campground, clipboard in hand (or maybe just a smile), checking that fire pits are cleaned and picnic tables are in good shape. I could help guide folks to their spots or share tips about the best trail to watch the sunset.

Snatcher would be right there with me, of course. Maybe he’s checking on the trash bins or refilling wood bundles while I greet new arrivals. We’d be side by side, doing something purposeful and peaceful that still allows us to connect with nature and people.

Trying this out for just one day would help me figure out if this lifestyle fits us—if it’s something we could really do while traveling across the U.S., exploring new places, and still spreading the love of Christ through our interactions and our YouTube channel.

So that’s on my list: to find a campground—maybe a KOA or a state park—where we could volunteer for a day as assistant hosts and see how it feels. Who knows? It might just become our next chapter.
