What was the last live performance you saw?
Last fall, Snatcher and I packed up our camping gear and headed to RiverCreek Campground for a weekend of outdoor adventure. The crisp air, towering trees, and the gentle sound of the creek were just what we needed to reset our minds and souls.
One of the unexpected highlights of our trip was a live performance by one of our fellow campers. As the sun began to set, a man with a weathered guitar sat on the porch of his RV, which was right behind our campsite. His voice was rich and soulful, and with each strum of his guitar, it was as if we were listening to a professional. The soothing melodies drifted through the campground, creating a serene, unforgettable atmosphere.
But the magic of that weekend didn’t stop there. Snatcher and I decided to challenge ourselves with a cook-off on our trusty Flatpack grill. Snatcher cooked dinner—salmon with perfectly grilled corn on the cob. His salmon was seasoned beautifully, and the corn was roasted to a smoky sweetness.
The next morning, I took on breakfast, which was an adventure of its own. I had never used a grill like this before, but I managed to cook turkey bacon, eggs with spinach, and sautéed onions and peppers. It was a learning experience, but the end result was delicious and satisfying.
Our time at RiverCreek Campground reminded me of why we love camping so much. It’s not just about escaping the hustle and bustle of everyday life—it’s about trying new things, connecting with each other, and enjoying those spontaneous, unforgettable moments.
If you ever get a chance to visit RiverCreek Campground, keep your grill handy and your ears open. You never know what magic might unfold under the starlit sky.
