Out of all the gear, gadgets, and tools I use every day, nothing has stood the test of time quite like my old King James Bible. It’s the oldest possession I own that still plays an active, irreplaceable role in my daily routine—and not just personally, but publicly too. It’s more than just a book. It’s the living Word of God, and it guides everything we do, including the videos we create on our YouTube channel, Wherever We Land.

Why This Bible Means So Much to Me

My King James Bible isn’t new or flashy. The leather is worn, the pages are weathered, and the edges are frayed from years of flipping. But every crease, underline, and margin note is a reminder of where I’ve been and how far God has brought me. It’s the source of my strength, my peace, and my purpose.

I’ve read it in quiet tents under the stars, in the passenger seat of our van while traveling to our next destination, and even in the middle of editing a video, seeking guidance when words or direction just aren’t flowing.

Incorporating the Word into Our YouTube Journey

On our YouTube channel Wherever We Land, my wife Nikki and I capture the raw beauty of van life, camping, fishing, hiking, and everything in between. But there’s one thing that never changes—our faith. At the core of every video is a message rooted in scripture, even if it’s subtle. We might open a vlog with a verse that inspired our day or close it with a reflection on something God revealed to us during our adventure.

That old Bible helps us stay grounded and intentional. It’s not just about content—it’s about connection. Our hope is that through our channel, people don’t just see where we go, but why we go. Because wherever we land, God’s already there.
