What profession do you admire most and why?
There’s a profession I deeply admire, not because it’s glamorous or guarantees fame and fortune, but because it represents courage, grit, and faith in action. That profession is the life of an entrepreneur.
I’m not talking about the millionaire entrepreneur who’s plastered across business magazines or flaunting luxury vacations on social media. I’m talking about the everyday entrepreneur—the person who has stepped out on their own accordance, planted their feet on the unknown ground of starting something from scratch, and worked diligently to bring it to life.
These are the men and women who have taken an idea, a skill, or a passion and built it from the ground up. They’ve had to learn the ins and outs of their business—the bookkeeping, the marketing, the customer service, and the behind-the-scenes grind that no one sees. They’ve done it without a ready-made roadmap, figuring things out through trial and error, prayer, and perseverance.
What I admire most is when an entrepreneur can take this leap and still find balance. They manage to weave their work into their daily life without letting it consume their family time, their faith, or their well-being. They understand that success isn’t about becoming a household name, but about creating a sustainable way of life that supports their home, honors their priorities, and keeps their spirit intact.
Someday, I pray that Snatcher and I are able to achieve just this with our travels and online work. I pray that we won’t face unnecessary obstacles, that our efforts will be blessed, and that we will sustain our life and be completely out of debt. I pray that our work will fit seamlessly into our days, allowing us to enjoy the journey while keeping God at the center of everything we do.
In a world that often measures success by how much money you make or how much you own, I find it refreshing—and deeply inspiring—to see someone chart their own path, live within their means, and build a life they love on their own terms. That is the quiet bravery of the everyday entrepreneur, and that is why I admire them so much.
