What brings a tear of joy to your eye?
What brings a tear of joy to my eye is getting to experience the camping world in the great outdoors. There’s something unexplainable about stepping away from the noise of life and finding myself surrounded by the stillness of God’s creation. The trees, the water, the fresh air—it all feels like a reminder that His presence is everywhere, even in the quiet moments.
For a long time, I held onto fears about camping. The thought of sleeping in a tent by the water made me nervous. But when I finally took that step of faith and faced my fears, I found it was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Lying in that tent, hearing the gentle ripple of the water and the whisper of the wind through the trees, I discovered a world of peace and serenity that I never knew was waiting for me.
That moment showed me something deeper about God’s grace and mercy. Every day, He gives me more than I deserve. Even when I fall short, even when I doubt myself, even when I’m not sure I can handle what’s in front of me, His love covers me. Camping has become more than just a hobby—it’s a reminder that God provides a place of rest for my soul.
Each trip into the outdoors strengthens my faith. I’m reminded that the same God who created the mountains, the lakes, and the skies is the same God who watches over me as I sleep in a tent. His creation whispers the truth of His promises: peace, comfort, and joy are found in Him.
So when a tear of joy falls from my eye as I sit by the water’s edge or look up at the stars, it’s because I know I am living in a moment of His goodness. And that’s something I will never take for granted.
“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the path of righteousness for his name’s sake” – Psalm 23:1-3 (KJV)
