If you had told us a few years ago that we would be trading the comfort of four steady walls for a life of grit, sawdust, and open skies, we might have laughed. But as the saying goes: “You want to make YAH laugh? Make a plan.”

Welcome to Wherever We Land. If you’ve been following our journey on YouTube, you know that our life is no longer about staying put—it’s about moving forward in faith. Today, we want to peel back the curtain and answer a question we often get asked: “Describe the most ambitious DIY project you’ve ever taken on.”

The Birth of “Glo”: More Than Just a Van

Without a doubt, our most ambitious project is the one we are living inside right now: converting our 2023 Dodge Ram ProMaster, affectionately known as Glo, into a home on wheels.

This wasn’t just about carpentry or plumbing. It was a DIY project of the soul. We started with no formal construction background—just a vision, a few tools, and an unshakable belief that with the Most High YAH, all things are possible.

From the first furring strip we installed on the ceiling to the custom-built loveseat Snatcher recently finished (despite the freezing snow!), every inch of Glo represents a lesson in patience. We’ve faced frozen pipes, canceled camping trips due to ice storms, and the constant “design dilemmas” of whether to paint or stain. But in every setback, we saw YAH’s hand guiding us to a better way.

Building on a Budget, Living on Faith

One of our proudest milestones was building our Luxury DIY Kitchen Galley for under $200. Using 90% scrap wood and leftover materials, we proved that “luxury” isn’t about how much money you spend—it’s about the stewardship of what you’ve been given.

We’ve learned that you don’t need a massive bank account to build a beautiful life; you just need a willing heart and the courage to learn as you go. Whether we are teaching our son how to grill at a campsite or figuring out where the toilet should go in a 60-square-foot space, we do it all with a spirit of gratitude.

We don’t share our “wins” to boast in our own strength. We share them to show you that you can do the hard things too. Whatever “ambitious project” is sitting on your heart—whether it’s building a van, starting a business, or simply choosing a more intentional life—know that you are not walking alone.
